BOARD OF SUPERVISORS, COUNTY OF SAN MATEO, STATE OF CALIFORNIA

RESOLUTION ACCEPTING U.S. DEPARTMENT OF HEALTH AND HUMAN SERVICES GRANT AND WAIVING THE REQUEST FOR PROPOSAL PROCESS FOR CONTRACTED SERVICES DESIGNATED WITHIN THE GRANT

RESOLVED, by the Board of Supervisors of the County of San Mateo, State of California, that

WHEREAS, the Human Services Agency, Alcohol and Drug Services, in collaboration with Juvenile Drug Court, identified a need for substance abuse treatment services, including assessment, case-management, and community-based treatment for multi-recidivist girls who are currently placed in facilities outside of San Mateo County; and

WHEREAS, the Human Services Agency, Alcohol and Drug Services, submitted a grant application to the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services to provide Juvenile Drug Court expansion services that address the identified needs; and

WHEREAS, the Human Services Agency, Alcohol and Drug Services has now received notice of grant award for a three-year project to fund said services; and

WHEREAS, the grant application and award, reference to which is hereby made for further particulars, have been presented to this Board of Supervisors for its consideration and acceptance; and

WHEREAS, the grant application specifies that Asian American Recovery

Services, Family and Community Enrichment Services, Inc., and Youth and Family Assistance

will be the service provider for expanded treatment services funded by the grant and that

evaluation will be conducted by University of California, San Francisco.

NOW THEREFORE, IT IS HEREBY DETERMINED AND ORDERED that the. President of this Board of Supervisors be, and is hereby authorized and directed to ex: (1) accepts said grant award for and on behalf of the County of San Mateo, (2) authorizes the Alcohol and Drug Services Administrator to execute all necessary documents in connection with the grant and (3) waives the Request for Proposal process for the contracted services funded by the grant and the Clerk of this Board shall attest the President's signature thereto.
