RESOLUTION APPROVING THE SUBMISSION OF THE YEAR-END REPORTS FOR 2001-2002 AND THE 2002-2003 UPDATES TO THE STRATEGIC PLAN FOR SERVICES TO OLDER ADULTS AND ADULTS WITH DISABILITIES AND THE TITLE III E FAMILY CAREGIVER SUPPORT PROGRAM ADDENDUM AND AUTHORIZING THE EXECUTION OF THE SUBMITTAL LETTER AS REQUIRED BY THE CALIFORNIA DEPARTMENT OF AGING

RESOLVED, by the Board of Supervisors of the County of San Mateo, State of California, that

 

WHEREAS, this Board has designated itself as the Area Agency on Aging of San Mateo County to carry out a program pursuant to the Older Americans Act of 1965; and

 

WHEREAS, the Board of Supervisors approved the New Beginning Coalition Strategic Plan for Services to Older Adults and Adults with Disabilities in August 2001; and

 

WHEREAS, the Board of Supervisors approved the Title III E Family Caregiver Support Program Addendum for the provision of support to informal family caregivers in January 2002; and

 

WHEREAS, it is necessary and desirable that the Area Agency on Aging submit both year-end reports, which identify progress made toward achievement of annual Area Plan and Addendum goals and objectives for the previous year, and an update of annual goals and objectives for the current year, both of which are required for final approval of Title III, Title V, and Title VII Older Americans Act funding to provide senior services.

 

NOW, THEREFORE, IT IS RESOLVED that the Submission of the Year-End Reports for 2001-2002 and the 2002-2003 Updates for the Strategic Plan for Services to Older Adults and Adults with Disabilities and the Title III E Family Caregiver Support Program Addendum, is APPROVED and that the President of this Board of Supervisors be, and is hereby authorized and directed to approve the submission of said reports for and on behalf of the County of San Mateo, and the Clerk of the Board shall attest the President's signature thereto; and

 

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the President of the Board is hereby authorized to execute the transmittal letter required by the California Department of Aging.
