RESOLUTION TO AMEND THE 2003-2004 LEGISLATIVE SESSION PROGRAM TO INCLUDE A LEGISLATIVE PROPOSAL REGARDING AUTOMATED WARRANT SYSTEMS |

RESOLVED, by the Board of Supervisors of the County of San Mateo, State of California, that |

WHEREAS, the San Mateo County Board of Supervisors adopted the County's 2003-2004 Legislative Session Program, which includes descriptions of legislative proposals the County will pursue either through sponsorship or co-sponsorship in the legislative session; |
|
WHEREAS, the Automated Warrant System legislative proposal would clarify existing law to protect from liability any peace officer who makes an arrest based on AWS information indicating a warrant of arrest that is entered by court personnel authorized to make such entries; |
|
WHEREAS, inclusion of this proposal as part of the County's 2003-2004 Legislative Session Program would further the County's commitment to responsive, effective and collaborative government and would support Goal #22 to effectively communicate on issues affecting the entire County; and |
|
NOW THEREFORE, IT IS HEREBY DETERMINED AND ORDERED that the San Mateo County Board of Supervisors by the adoption of this resolution hereby amends the 2003-2004 Legislative Session Program to include a legislative proposal regarding the Automated Warrant System. |
