Resolution Authorizing an Increase in Aggregate Payments to the Contractor for the
Alta Vista Drive Reconstruction Project - Country Club Park - South San Francisco Area
(Project No. R6K00 - F-36[366])

RESOLVED, by the Board of Supervisors of the County of San Mateo, State of California, that

WHEREAS, this Board if Supervisors did, on July 9, 2002, adopt Resolution No. 65411, for the award and authorized execution of a contract with Interstate Grading & Paving, Inc. for the Alta Vista Drive Reconstruction Project; and

WHEREAS, the County did enter into an Agreement with Interstate Grading & Paving, Inc., as authorized by said resolution; and

WHEREAS, the agreement provides that aggregate payments to Interstate Grading & Paving, Inc. shall not exceed $573,000 without this Board's approval; and

WHEREAS, it is anticipated that the changes in the project will increase the overall contract cost to an amount greater than was originally authorized by this Board; and

WHEREAS, the Director of Public Works had recommended that the not-to-exceed figure as originally approved by this Board be increased to provide for unanticipated work; and

WHEREAS, this Board has considered the recommendation of the Director of Public Works.

NOW THEREFORE, IT IS HEREBY DETERMINED AND ORDERED that:

1.

the agreement is hereby amended to provide that aggregate payments to Interstate Grading & Paving, Inc. for said work shall not exceed the sum of Five Hundred Ninety-Five Thousand and No/100 Dollars ($595,000.00) without this Board's approval;

2.

with the exception of the modification as herein provided, the agreement with Interstate Grading & Paving, Inc., entered into on July 9, 2002 shall remain unchanged.
