|
TO: |
Honorable Board of Supervisors |
FROM: |
Luther Perry - Director of Information Services Department |
SUBJECT: |
Execution of an amendment with Baxter Healthcare Corporation |
|
Recommendation |
Adopt a resolution executing an amendment with Baxter Healthcare Corporation to modify the statement of work and extend the contract term. |
|
Background |
On July 13, 1999, your Board approved an agreement with Autros Hospital Systems Inc. to provide pharmacy software for patient registration, billing, and medical information that will integrate information that was previously maintained in separate systems. In early 2000, the Autros system was implemented for inpatient pharmacy. However, Baxter/Autos has been working with the County supplying support and programming for the Pharmacy system that has not been updated with the new releases since its implementation. |
|
Discussion |
The upgrade of the Baxter Autros software will bring the pharmacy to the most current supported version of software. In this version of the software there are enhancements that the pharmacy requested/recommended at the time of implementation. Being on the most current version also enables the medical center to move forward with additional modules that were included in the Original Agreement. |
|
Vision Alignment |
The contract with Baxter Healthcare Corporation keeps the commitment to responsive, effective, and collaborative government, specifically goal number 22: County and local governments effectively communicate and collaborate in order to develop strategic approaches on issues affecting the entire County. This contract contributes to this goal because it helps the department provide better service to the community. |
|
Fiscal Impact |
Funding for this agreement is included in the ISD proposed 2002-2003 budgets. |
