Recommended Revision to the Salary Ordinance

Recommendation

Adopt an ordinance amending the salary ordinance.

Summary

The salary ordinance changes herein represent changing salary rates for the elected department heads and adjusting vacation accruals for the County Manager and County Counsel.

Vision Alignment

This item keeps the commitment of responsive, effective and collaborative government through goal number 20: Government decisions are based on careful consideration of future impact, rather than temporary relief or immediate gain.

Fiscal Impact

The salary adjustment actions represent a monthly salary and benefits cost increase of $5,783 or an annual cost increase of $69,400.

This amendment has been reviewed by the County Counsel's Office.

VACATIONS

Action:

Increase the maximum accrual for vacation for the County Manager and the County Counsel by 265.2 hours. The County Manager and the County Counsel may once each year receive a cash payment for up to 160 hours of accumulated vacation.
