Resolution Authorizing the County Manager to Approve an Increase in the Original Contract Amount between the County of San Mateo and MACTECH Engineering and Consulting, Inc. (formerly known as Harding ESE, Inc.), for Additional Engineering Services on the Coyote Point Marina 2003 Maintenance Dredging Project

RESOLVED, by the Board of Supervisors of the County of San Mateo, State of California, that

WHEREAS, an agreement with MACTECH Engineering and Consulting, Inc., was previously approved by the County Manager for engineering services associated with the dredging of the Coyote Point Marina; and

WHEREAS, this Board adopted Resolution No. 065667 on November 5, 2002, rejecting the one bid received for the Coyote Point Marina 2002 Maintenance Dredging Project, and authorizing the Director of Public Works to revise the plans and specifications in order to call for bids in the 2003 dredging season; and

WHEREAS, it has been determined that additional engineering services including a pre-dredge survey, additional mud sampling and testing prior to commencing dredging and monitoring during dredging operations may be required; and

WHEREAS, in order to provide for said additional engineering services as may be needed for the dredging project, it is necessary to increase the original not-to-exceed amount in the agreement as referenced above; and

WHEREAS, the Director of Parks with the concurrence of the Director of the Environmental Services Agency through the report prepared by the Director of Public Works has recommended that the not-to-exceed limit of the agreement for engineering services be increased, and this Board has considered the recommendation of the Director of Parks.

NOW, THEREFORE, IT IS HEREBY DETERMINEDAND ORDERED that the County Manager is hereby authorized to approve an increase to the original contract amount with MACTECH Engineering and Consulting, Inc. from $95,000 to $163,100.
