AN ORDINANCE CHANGING THE NAME OF THE DEPARTMENT OF HOSPITAL AND CLINICS TO THE SAN MATEO MEDICAL CENTER, THE NAME OF THE HOSPITAL AND CLINICS TO SAN MATEO MEDICAL CENTER AND THE NAME OF THE DIRECTOR OF THE HOSPITALS AND CLINICS TO CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICER, SAN MATEO MEDICAL CENTER

The Board of Supervisors of the County of San Mateo, State of California, ORDAINS as follows:

SECTION 1. Section 2.04.020 is hereby amended to read as follows:

	Section 2.04.020. County Departments.

	The departments of the County are hereby declared to be as follows:

	a.	Assessor-County Clerk-Recorder
	b.	Child Support Services
	c.	Controller
	e.	County Counsel
	f.	County Manager/Clerk of the Board of Supervisors
	g.	District Attorney-Public Administrator
	h.	Employee and Public Services
	i.	Environmental Services Agency
	j.	Health Services Agency
	k.	San Mateo Medical Center
	l.	Human Services Agency
	m.	Information Services Agency
	n.	Probation
	o.	Public Works
	p.	Sheriff
	q.	Tax Collector-Treasurer
	r.	Five Departments, one for each Office of Supervisors

SECTION 2. Section 2.64.010 is hereby amended to read as follows:

	Section 2.64.010. San Mateo Medical Center.

	There is hereby created a department entitled the San Mateo Medical Center under the management of the Chief Executive Officer, San Mateo Medical Center and any clinics established and operated by the County are under the management of the Chief Executive Officer, San Mateo Medical Center. It is the duty of the Chief Executive Officer to formulate policies and procedures and enforce all rules and regulations relative to the operation of said institutions.

SECTION 3. Section 2.64 of the San Mateo County Ordinance shall be amended to be entitled "San Mateo Medical Center," with sections 2.64.030 through 2.64.100 inclusive and sections 2.64.140 through 2.64.290 inclusive, each amended to substitute as follows:

	1.		"San Mateo Medical Center" for "Hospitals and Clinics" or "Department of Hospitals and Clinics" or "Harold D. Chope Community Hospital" or "Chope Community Hospital" or "Chope Hospital" or "Harold D. Chope Hospital" or "San Mateo County General Hospital" or "Community Hospital."

	2.		"Chief Executive Officer, San Mateo Medical Center" for "Director of the Department of Hospitals and Clinics" or "Director of Hospitals and Clinics."

SECTION 4. This Ordinance shall be effective thirty (30) days from the passage date thereof.
