COMMENDING AND HONORING | ||||
LIEUTENANT GEORGE QUINN | ||||
UPON HIS RETIREMENT FROM THE DALY CITY POLICE DEPARTMENT | ||||

WHEREAS, it has come to the attention of the Board of Supervisors of the County of San Mateo, State of California that LIEUTENANT GEORGE QUINN has retired following twenty-nine years of devoted service with the Daly City Police Department; and | ||||
WHEREAS, LIEUTENANT GEORGE QUINN, after being appointed as a Police Officer in 1973, rose through the ranks and was promoted to Detective in 1981, Sergeant in 1983, and then Lieutenant in 1991, where he continued his committed and valued service until his retirement; and | ||||
WHEREAS, LIEUTENANT GEORGE QUINN attended the College of San Mateo, and the University of San Francisco, where he received a Bachelor's Degree in Political Science. After continuing his education by earning a Master's Degree in Justice Administration from Golden Gate University, LIEUTENANT GEORGE QUINN earned his teaching credentials to instruct Public Service Administration and Political Science, completed the Law Enforcement Command College in 1999, and was an instructor at San Mateo County's Police Academy; and | ||||
WHEREAS, LIEUTENANT GEORGE QUINN was commended for his efforts in developing the Daly City's Field Training Officer Program, which made great strides in enhancing the quality of Daly City's Police Officers; and | ||||
WHEREAS, LIEUTENANT GEORGE QUINN was responsible for implementing Daly City's first Community Oriented Policing Enforcement Program and Philosophy; and | ||||
WHEREAS, LIEUTENANT GEORGE QUINN concludes a distinguished career with the City of Daly City's Police Department that exemplifies leadership, professionalism, devotion, and loyalty to both his fellow officers and to the community that he diligently served. | ||||
NOW, THEREFORE, IT IS HEREBY RESOLVED that the Board of Supervisors of the County of San Mateo, State of California, does hereby honor LIEUTENANT GEORGE QUINN by joining his wife, Catherine, daughter, Kellie and son, Steven in acknowledging his success in law enforcement and wishing him the best in his retirement. | ||||
