*COMMENDING AND HONORING*

OFFICER ROBERT HYINK

UPON HIS RETIREMENT FROM THE DALY CITY POLICE DEPARTMENT

* * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * *

	WHEREAS, it has come to the attention of the Board of Supervisors of the County of San Mateo, State of California that OFFICER ROBERT HYINK has retired from the Daly City Police Department after thirty years of dedicated public service; and

	WHEREAS, OFFICER ROBERT HYINK served as an Air Patrolman in the United States Air Force before attending the College of San Mateo, completing the police academy, and being appointed to the Daly City Police Department in 1972; and

	WHEREAS, OFFICER ROBERT HYINK has concluded a devoted career in public service epitomized by numerous Departmental commendations and letters of gratitude, which indicate his tireless commitment to serve the community with pride, compassion and dignity; and

	WHEREAS, OFFICER ROBERT HYINK bravely served on the Daly City Police Department's S.W.A.T. team, where his fellow officer's expressed admiration for his selfless dedication to protecting the citizens of Daly City and his teammates during life-threatening situations; and

	WHEREAS, OFFICER ROBERT HYINK has served with poise, integrity and professionalism throughout his career and has made valuable contributions to law enforcement in Daly City.

	NOW, THEREFORE, IT IS HEREBY RESOLVED that the Board of Supervisors of the County of San Mateo, State of California, does hereby honor OFFICER ROBERT HYINK, and joins his wife, Karen and his son, Ryan in expressing our gratitude for his exemplary service and wishing him the best in his retirement.
