Resolution Authorizing an Increase in Aggregate Payments to the Contractor for the Installation of a Mid-Block Pedestrian Traffic Signal on the Alameda de las Pulgas in the West Menlo Park Area (F-36 [348])

RESOLVED, by the Board of Supervisors of the County of San Mateo, State of California, that

 

WHEREAS, this Board of Supervisors did, on January 15, 2002, adopt a resolution for the award and authorized execution of an agreement with Pacific Electric Company for the installation of a mid-block pedestrian traffic signal on the Alameda de las Pulgas in the West Menlo Pak area; and

 

WHEREAS, the County did enter into an agreement with Pacific Electric Company, as authorized by said resolution; and

 

WHEREAS, the agreement provides that aggregate payments to Pacific Electric Company, shall not exceed $106,000 without this Board's approval; and

 

WHEREAS, it is anticipated that the changes in the project will increase the overall contract cost to an amount greater than was originally authorized by this Board; and

 

WHEREAS, the Director of Public Works has recommended that the not-to-exceed amount as originally approved by this Board be increased to provide for unanticipated work; and

 

WHEREAS, this Board has considered the recommendation of the Director of Public Works.

 

    NOW THEREFORE, IT IS HEREBY DETERMINED AND ORDERED that

 

1.

The agreement is hereby amended to provide that aggregate payments to Pacific Electric Company for said work shall not exceed the sum of One Hundred and Nine Thousand Dollars ($109,000) without this Board's approval.

 

2.

That, with the exception of modification as herein provided, the agreement with Pacific Electric Company, entered into on January 15, 2002 shall remain unchanged.
