Resolution Authorizing Execution of an Agreement between the County of San Mateo and the California Department of Transportation Regarding Exchange of Funds for the Program Entitled Federal Apportionment Exchange and State Match

RESOLVED, by the Board of Supervisors of the County of San Mateo, State of California, that

WHEREAS, Federal Transportation Equity Act for the 21^st Century (TEA-21) makes available Federal funds to counties; and

WHEREAS, Section 182 et. Seq. of the State of California Streets and Highways Code provides that a County may exchange TEA-21 Funds for State Highway Funds, and for the matching of TEA-21 Funds with State Highway Funds; and

WHEREAS, the regulations governing the use of State Highway Funds are less restrictive than the regulations governing the use of TEA-21 Funds; and

WHEREAS, the California Department of Transportation (CALTRANS) has offered to exchange TEA-21 Funds for State Highway Funds and to provide matching State Highway Funds to the County; and

WHEREAS, there has been presented to this Board a form of agreement that provides for the exchange and match of State Funds, and this Board has reviewed and considered same.

NOW THEREFORE, IT IS HEREBY DETERMINED AND ORDERED that:

The County of San Mateo shall enter into said agreement with the California Department of Transportation.

2.

The President of this Board of Supervisors be, and is hereby, authorized and directed to execute said agreement for the County of San Mateo and the signature of the Clerk of this Board shall attest thereto.
