BOARD MEETING DATE: |

|
TO: |
Honorable Board of Supervisors |
FROM: |
Dorothea Curtin - Deputy Director of Health Applications |
SUBJECT: |
Execution of an amendment and an addendum to an agreement with Avnet Computer. |
|
Recommendation |
Adopt a resolution executing an amendment and an addendum that allows the County to utilize the exchange privilege as authorized in resolution 60768. |
|
Background |
On December 17, 1996 your Board executed an agreement with Avnet Computer to upgrade Health Services data center. And on June 23, 1998 your Board approved an amendment to expand the data center's capacity. This agreement includes the costs of upgrading the equipment in future years through and exchange privilege process. Since computer equipment is more advance with each oncoming year, the vendor established this program to allow clients the opportunity to upgrade their equipment without any fiscal impact. |
|
Discussion |
Your Board approved an amendment on January 14, 2003 to utilize a portion of the funds allocated to the exchange privilege in order to obtain additional desktops and notebooks for the Hospital staff for training without any fiscal impact. However, Avnet has requested the County to sign this amendment and warranty addendum in order to complete this transaction |
|
Vision Alignment |
Executing this amendment and warranty addendum with Avnet Computer Corporation keeps the commitment to responsive, effective, and collaborative government, specifically goal number 22: County and local governments effectively communicate and collaborate in order to develop strategic approaches on issues affecting the entire County. This contract contributes to this goal because Avnet is assisting in the Hospital's ability to facilitate effective communication and collaboration between County departments. |
|
Fiscal Impact |
There is no net County cost. |
