RESOLUTION INCREASING PARK FEES 20-25%, MARINA BERTHING FEES 3%, AND A NEW FEE OF $24 ANNUALLY TO MAINTAIN

A NAME ON THE MARINA WAITING LIST

RESOLVED, by the Board of Supervisors of the County of San Mateo, State of California, that

WHEREAS, the Parks and Recreation Division staff periodically reviews fees charged for specialty use of the County Parks, park features and park services, and is proposing an increase in selected park use and special activity fees with most of them being increased by 20-25%; and

WHEREAS, the County Parks Coyote Point Marina staff annually reviews fees charged for berthing as required by a loan agreement between the County and the California Department of Boating and Waterways to be adjusted by a rate not less than the U.S. Department of Labor, Bureau of Labor Statistics Consumer Price Index (CPI) and is proposing a 3% increase in Marina fees; and

WHEREAS, the Parks Division has reviewed the cost of maintaining a Marina Berth Waiting List and is proposing a new fee of $24.00 annually for interested parties to keep their name on that list; and

WHEREAS, the Parks and Recreation Commission at its May 1, 2003 regular meeting did review and move to recommend to the Board of Supervisors approval of the proposed changes in the Parks and Marina fees;

NOW THEREFORE, IT IS HEREBY DETERMINED AND ORDERED that the San Mateo County Board of Supervisors by adoption of this resolution hereby approves (a) a 20-25% increase in selected park use and special activity fees, (b) a 3% increase in Marina fees and (c) a new fee of $24.00 annually to maintain a name on the Marina waiting list.
