RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE PRESIDENT OF THE BOARD TO EXECUTE AMENDMENT NO. 2 TO THE AGREEMENT WITH GRINNELL CORPORATION FOR MAINTENANCE OF THE

SECURITY SYSTEMS IN THE MAGUIRE CORRECTIONAL FACILITY

RESOLVED, by the Board of Supervisors of the County of San Mateo, State of California, that

WHEREAS, on June 20, 2000 the San Mateo County Sheriff's Office entered into a two-year agreement (Resolution No. 63732) with the Grinnell Corporation for provision of maintenance services to the security systems in the Maguire Correctional Facility; and

WHEREAS, on March 29, 2002, this Board approved Amendment No. 1 (Resolution No. 65127) to the agreement, increasing the contractual maximum by $164,000 from $252,000 to $416,000 as well as extending the expiration date one-year to June 30, 2003; and

WHEREAS, the Sheriff's Office has formed a committee to prepare, develop and issue a Request For Proposals (RFP) for maintenance services to the security systems in all Sheriff's secure facilities; and

WHEREAS, to prevent any lapse in services during the RFP process, the Sheriff's Office desires to extend the agreement with Grinnell Corporation an additional six months as well as increase the agreement obligation by $110,000 from $416,000 to $525,000 to cover costs for the additional six months; and

WHEREAS, this Board has been presented with a form of such second amendment to the agreement with Grinnell Corporation and has examined and approved it as to both form and content and desires to enter into said amendment; and

NOW THEREFORE, IT IS HEREBY DETERMINED AND ORDERED the President of this Board of Supervisors be, and is hereby authorized to execute amendment to the agreement for and on behalf of the County of San Mateo, and the Clerk of this Board of Supervisors shall attest his signature thereto.
