RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE ENVIRONMENTAL SERVICES AGENCY DIRECTOR TO EXECUTE AN AGREEMENT BETWEEN THE COUNTY OF SAN MATEO AND THE PENINSULA HUMANE SOCIETY FOR THE PROVISION OF ANIMAL CONTROL SERVICES AND SHELTER SERVICES AND WAIVING THE REQUEST FOR PROPOSAL PROCESS

RESOLVED, by the Board of Supervisors of the County of San Mateo, State of California, that

WHEREAS, there has been presented to this Board for its consideration and acceptance an Agreement with the Peninsula Humane Society for the provision of Animal Control Services and Shelter Services from July 1, 2003 through June 30, 2006; and

WHEREAS, the best interest of the County of San Mateo would be served by a waiver of the Request for Proposal Process since the County has maintained a long-term relationship with the Peninsula Humane Society for Animal Control Services, and the Peninsula Humane Society holds a long-term lease for shelter facilities on County land;

WHEREAS, this Board is presented with such Agreement and said Board has examined and approved same as to both form and content and desire to enter into same upon receipt of all signed Agreements from all Cities for the provision of Animal Control Services;

NOW THEREFORE, IT IS HEREBY DETERMINED AND ORDERED that the Environmental Service Agency Director is hereby authorized and directed to execute said Agreement for and on behalf of the County of San Mateo.

BE IT FURTHER ORDERED AND DETERMINED, that the Request for Proposal process is hereby waived.
