RESOLUTION OF SUPPORT IF AMENDED FOR SENATE BILL 418 (SHER) REGARDING FISH AND GAME STREAMBED ALTERATION AGREEMENTS

RESOLVED, by the Board of Supervisors of the County of San Mateo, State of California, that

WHEREAS, SB 418 would allow the Department of Fish and Game (DFG), among other things, more time to review proposed activities that may adversely impact streambeds, and eliminate the cap on fees charged to administer and enforce the streambed alteration agreement process; and

WHEREAS, San Mateo County has developed, to address the concerns of the County, several proposed amendments, which, if adopted would allow San Mateo County to support SB 418; and

WHEREAS, support of SB 418 with the requested amendments furthers the County's commitment to preserve and provide people access to important natural resources and furthers Goal #14 that important natural resources are preserved and enforced through environmental stewardship;

NOW THEREFORE, IT IS HEREBY DETERMINED AND ORDERED that the San Mateo County Board of Supervisors by the adoption of this resolution hereby supports Senate Bill 418 regarding fish and game streambed alteration agreements if SB 418 is amended to address the concerns of San Mateo County.
