RESOLUTION APPROVING THE ACCEPTANCE OF A DONATION FROM THE SAN MATEO COUNTY PARKS AND RECREATION FOUNDATION IN THE AMOUNT OF $98,500, THE REALLOCATION OF $55,000 AND AUTHORIZING THE DIRECTOR OF ENVIRONMENTAL SERVICES TO EXECUTE AND SUBMIT ANY AGREEMENTS OR OTHER DOCUMENTS RELATED TO THE DONATION AND SUBJECT PROJECTS

RESOLVED, by the Board of Supervisors of the County of San Mateo, State of California, that

WHEREAS, the San Mateo County Parks Foundation (Foundation) has raised $98,500 in donations for environmental review and permitting for the Edgewood Interpretive Center and plans; design biological studies and permitting for the Sequoia Flat Crossing in Memorial Park; funding a park aide at the Fitzgerald Marine Reserve; landscaping improvements at the Coyote Point Recreation Area; maintenance of equestrian trails within Pescadero Park; and make improvements at the Jack Brook Horse Camp in Sam McDonald Park; and

WHEREAS, the Foundation previously donated $55,000 for a Ranger Station at Crystal Springs Trail, which project due to circumstances is no longer feasible; and

WHEREAS, reallocation of those funds in the amount of $55,000 is sought for the funding of the approved Sanchez Adobe Roofing and Seismic Repairs Project;

NOW THEREFORE, IT IS HEREBY DETERMINED AND ORDERED that the San Mateo County Board of Supervisors by adoption of this resolution hereby approves the acceptance of the San Mateo County Parks and Recreation Foundation donation for the Edgewood Park and Preserve Interpretive Center Phase II in the amount of $40,000; the Memorial Park Sequoia Flat Crossing in the amount of $50,000; park aide funding for Fitzgerald Marine Reserve in the amount of $6,000; landscaping improvements at Coyote Point Recreation Area in the amount of $1,000; maintenance of equestrian trails within Pescadero Park in the amount of $1,000; improvements at the Jack Brook Horse Camp in Sam McDonald Park in the amount of $500 and approves reallocation of previously donated Foundation funds in the amount of $55,000 from the Ranger Station at Crystal Springs Trail to the Sanchez Adobe Roofing and Seismic Repairs Project; and

IT IS FURTHER ORDERED, that the Director of the Environmental Services Agency of the County of San Mateo accepts the funds, uses the aforementioned funds for the specified projects and executes any agreements or other documents related to the donation and subject projects.
