RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE EXECUTION OF A FIRST AMENDMENT TO THE AGREEMENTS UNDER THE AIRPORT PROJECT TO EXTEND THE TERM AND THE HUMAN SERVICES AGENCY DIRECTOR TO EXECUTE THE SECOND AMENDMENT TO EACH OF THE AGREEMENTS FOR THE PURPOSE OF INCREASING THE AMOUNTS OF THE AGREEMENTS FOR FISCAL YEAR 2003-04 WHEN FUNDS ARE ALLOCATED BY THE STATE

RESOLVED, by the Board of Supervisors of the County of San Mateo, State of California, that

 

WHEREAS, by Resolution 65583 the Board of Supervisors accepted a grant on behalf of the Workforce Investment Board (WIB) of $2,538,390 from the 25% governor’s grant and authorized the Human Services Agency Director to enter into Agreements with subcontractors identified by the WIB to provide outreach and supportive services to dislocated workers from the airline and travel industry; and

 

WHEREAS, for Fiscal Year 2003-04 the State has not released the budget or allocations, it is being requested that the term of the contracts shown be extended to June 30, 2004 and that the Human Services Agency Director be authorized to execute the Second Amendment for each of the subcontractors for the purpose of increasing the amount of each Agreement when funding is received from the State; and

 

WHEREAS, this Board of Supervisors has been presented with a form of each First Amendment to the Airport Project Agreements and said Board has examined and approved same as to both form and content and desires to enter into the First Amendment to the Agreements with the contractors shown.

 

NOW THEREFORE, IT IS HEREBY DETERMINED AND ORDERED that the President of this Board of Supervisors is hereby authorized and directed to execute First Amendment to the Airport Project Agreements for and on behalf of the County of San Mateo, and the Clerk of this Board shall attest the President's signature thereto.

 

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Human Services Agency Director be authorized to execute the Second Amendment for each Agreement for the purpose of adding state funds.
