RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE EXECUTION OF A FIRST AMENDMENT TO THE AGREEMENT WITH THE CHILD CARE COORDINATING COUNCIL

RESOLVED, by the Board of Supervisors of the County of San Mateo, State of California, that

WHEREAS, on March 26, 2002, the Board of Supervisors approved an Agreement with Child Care Coordinating Council for the purpose of providing multiple child care services through the Exempt Provider Program, Warmline Program, Child Care Facilities Expansion Fund, and the Peninsula Quality Fund for Early Childhood Facilites; and

WHEREAS, the funding for the Exempt Provider Program and Warmline is being terminated and, the funding for the HSA Leavers Project and the Peninsula Quality Fund for Early Childhood Facilites were one time payments; and

WHEREAS, the County and the Contractor wish to increase the amount of the Child Care Expansion Fund to continue to fund a full-time Fund Manager position for the purpose of planning, developing and securing additional financing for those child care facilities that will receive funding from the Child Care Facilites Expansion Fund (SmartKids);

WHEREAS, This Board has been presented with a form of such First Amendment to the Agreement and said Board has examined and approved same as to both form and content and desires to enter into the same.

NOW THEREFORE, IT IS HEREBY DETERMINED AND ORDERED that the President of this Board of Supervisors is hereby authorized and directed to execute said First Amendment to the Agreement for and on behalf of the County of San Mateo, and the Clerk of this Board shall attest the President's signature thereto.
