RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING EXECUTION OF AMENDMENT NO. 2 TO THE EXISTING AGREEMENT BETWEEN THE COUNTY OF SAN MATEO AND APS/PINKERTON SECURITY AND INVESTIGATION SERVICES

RESOLVED, by the Board of Supervisors of the County of San Mateo, State of California, that:

WHEREAS, there exists a need within the County of San Mateo for the continued provision of security services at various Court facilities and service locations; and

WHEREAS, this Board has, on June 27, 2000, executed an Agreement (Resolution 63751) with APS/Pinkerton Security and Investigation Services for the provision of security guard services at a variety of County facilities, and on August 6, 2002, did further execute Amendment No. 1 (Resolution 65483) to said Agreement, extending the term through June 30, 2005, and adding security guard service at several additional County facilities; and

WHEREAS, this Board has determined that it is in the best interests of the County to execute a second Amendment to said Agreement, adding services at one new and one existing site, and reorganizing the financing at one additional existing site, and has further determined that adequate financing is available to fund said additional services at no additional cost to the County; and

WHEREAS, this Board has been presented with a form of said Amendment No.2, and has examined same, and finds it necessary and desirable that the existing Agreement with APS/Pinkerton et seq. be modified by the proposed Amendment No.2:

NOW THEREFORE, IT IS HEREBY DETERMINED AND ORDERED that the President of the Board of Supervisors be directed, and she is hereby so authorized, to execute Amendment No. 2 to the Agreement between the County of San Mateo and APS/Pinkerton Security and Investigation Services, and the Clerk of this Board shall attest his signature thereto.
