RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING EXECUTION OF AGREEMENT WITH CLARA-MATEO ALLIANCE, INC., TO PROVIDE EMERGENCY AND TRANSITIONAL HOUSING FOR HOMELESS FAMILIES AND INDIVIDUALS

RESOLVED, by the Board of Supervisors of the County of San Mateo, State of California, that

WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 570.201 of Title 24 of the Code of Federal Regulations, regarding the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) Program, grant assistance my be used to fund eligible activities to be carried out by private nonprofit entities duly organized to undertake community development activities or by public agencies; and

WHEREAS, the County desires to provide funding support to Clara-Mateo Alliance, Inc., by obligating $80,00 in CDGB funds, $37,363 in CalWorks and $3,600 in Center for Substance Abuse Treatment (CSAT) funds for transitional housing, emergency housing, substance abuse counseling and supportive services for homeless individuals and families; and

WHEREAS, on May 6, 2003, the Board of Supervisors approved the CDBG funding for FY 2003-04, which included funding for this activity; and

WHEREAS, there has been presented to this Board of Supervisors for its consideration and acceptance, an Agreement between the County of San Mateo and Clara-Mateo Alliance, Inc., reference to which is hereby made for further particulars, and the Board of Supervisors has examined and approved the same as to form and content and desires to enter into the same.

NOW THEREFORE, IT IS HEREBY DETERMINED AND ORDERED that the President of this Board of Supervisors be, and is hereby authorized and directed to execute said Agreement for and on behalf of the County of San Mateo, and the Clerk of this Board shall attest the President's signature thereto.
