RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE THIRD AMENDMENT TO THE AGREEMENT BETWEEN THE COUNTIES OF ALAMEDA, CONTRA COSTA, MARIN, MERCED, MONTEREY, SAN MATEO, SANTA CRUZ, SOLANO, SONOMA AND STANISLAUS, ESTABLISHING THE BAY AREA CAPI CONSORTIUM

RESOLVED, by the Board of Supervisors of the County of San Mateo, State of California, that

 

WHEREAS, on March 21, 2000, by Resolution no. 63488, the counties of Alameda, Contra Costa, Marin, Merced Monterey, San Mateo, Santa Clara, Santa Cruz, Solano, Sonoma and Stanislaus entered into an Agreement to form a consortium to administer CAPI, which provides cash assistance to blind, aged and disabled legal immigrants who are not citizens and who are not eligible for Supplemental Security Income/ State Supplemental Payment (SSI/SSP) benefits, and;

 

WHEREAS, the Agreement has been amended on two previous occasions for the purpose of extending the term and to accept Santa Clara County's withdrawal from the Consortium; and

 

WHEREAS, the parties now wish to further amend the Agreement for the purpose of allowing the Consortium Counties to advance money to San Mateo County as the fiscal agent of the consortium in the event of a State budget impasse.

 

WHEREAS, this Board has been presented with a form of such Third Amendment to the Agreement and said Board having examined and approved the Third Amendment as to form and content, and desires to enter into the amended Agreement;

 

NOW THEREFORE, IT IS HEREBY DETERMINED AND ORDERED that the President of this Board of Supervisors be, and he is hereby, authorized and directed to execute the Third Amendment to the Agreement for and on behalf of the County of San Mateo, and the Clerk of this Board shall attest his signature thereto.
