BOARD OF SUPERVISORS, COUNTY OF SAN MATEO, STATE OF CALIFORNIA

RESOLUTION WAIVING THE REQUEST FOR PROPOSALS PROCESS AND AUTHORIZING THE EXECUTION OF AN AGREEMENT BETWEEN THE COUNTY OF SAN MATEO AND THE SAN MATEO COUNTY SUPERINTENDENT OF SCHOOLS FOR THE OPERATION OF PREVOCATIONAL AND REMEDIAL EDUCATION PROGRAMS WITHIN THE COUNTY'S DETENTION FACILITIES

RESOLVED, by the Board of Supervisors of the County of San Mateo, State of California, that:

WHEREAS, the San Mateo County Superintendent of Schools has been providing remedial and pre-vocational services to inmates in the County's detention facilities for the past nine years; and

WHEREAS, it is in the best interest of the County to waive the Request for Proposals process and enter into an Agreement with the San Mateo County Superintendent of Schools on the basis of the Superintendent of Schools being a sole source provider in the County of San Mateo; and

WHEREAS, this Board has been presented with a form of such Agreement and said Board has examined and approved same as to both form and content and desires to enter into the same; and

NOW, THEREFORE, IT IS HEREBY DETERMINED AND ORDERED THAT: the Request for Proposals process is waived, and the President of this Board of Supervisors be, and is hereby authorized and directed to execute said Agreement for and on behalf of the County of San Mateo, and the Clerk of this Board shall attest the President's signature thereto.
