• adding one new differential.

These actions were approved for study by the County Manager's Office.

Vision Alignment

This item keeps the commitment of responsive, effective and collaborative government through goal number 20: Government decisions are based on careful consideration of future impact, rather than temporary relief or immediate gain.

Fiscal Impact

The reclassification action represents a monthly salary and benefit cost of $437 or an annual cost of $5,244.

This amendment has been reviewed by the County Counsel’s Office.

ORGANIZATION 30000 SHERIFF’S OFFICE

Action:

Add: One new differential of 5% for Criminalists providing lead direction to other staff.

Explanation:

This is the addition of one new differential of 5% to be provided to employees in the Criminalist classification who provide lead direction to other staff in the areas of firearms and DNA analysis. These areas require significantly higher skills than required for traditional criminal analysis work and this differential recognizes those skills. This action does not change the number of authorized positions.
