RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CHIEF ELECTIONS OFFICER TO RENDER SPECIFIED ELECTION SERVICES FOR THE COASTSIDE COUNTY WATER DISTRICT, CITY OF BELMONT, CITY OF BRISBANE, CITY OF FOSTER CITY, CITY OF MILLBRAE, TOWN OF PORTOLA VALLEY, CITY OF SAN BRUNO, CITY OF SAN MATEO, CITY OF SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO, AND THE TOWN OF WOODSIDE IN CONJUNCTION WITH THE CONSOLIDATED GENERAL ELECTION TO BE HELD ON TUESDAY, NOVEMBER 4, 2003

RESOLVED, by the Board of Supervisors of the County of San Mateo, State of California, that

 

WHEREAS, pursuant to State Law, the Board of Directors of the Coastside County Water District adopted Resolution No. 2003-08 calling for and giving notice of holding a Consolidated Special Election on Tuesday, November 4, 2003, for the purpose of filling the vacancy in the office of Director and requesting the Board of Supervisors to render specified services to the District relating to the conduct of the Consolidated Special Election; and

 

WHEREAS, pursuant to State Law, the City Council of the City of Belmont adopted Resolution No. 9408 giving notice of holding a General Election on Tuesday, November 4, 2003, for the purpose of electing one City Clerk, one City Treasurer, and two members to the City Council and requesting the Board of Supervisors to render specified services to the City relating to the conduct of the General Election; and

 

WHEREAS, pursuant to State Law, the City Council of the City of Brisbane adopted Resolution No. 2003-25 giving notice of holding a General Election on Tuesday, November 4, 2003, for the purpose of electing two members to the office of City Council and requesting the Board of Supervisors to render specified services to the City relating to the conduct of the General Election; and

 

WHEREAS, pursuant to State Law, the City Council of the City of Foster City adopted Resolution No. 2003-48 giving notice of holding a General Election on Tuesday, November 4, 2003, for the purpose of electing three members to the office of City Council and requesting the Board of Supervisors to render specified services to the City relating to the conduct of the General Election; and

 

WHEREAS, pursuant to State Law, the City Council of the City of Millbrae adopted Resolution Nos. 03-47 and 03-55 giving notice of holding a General Election on Tuesday, November 4, 2003, for the purpose of electing three members to the City Council and for the purpose of submitting a proposed measure to the qualified voters of the City, respectively, and requesting the Board of Supervisors to render specified services to the City relating to the conduct of the General Election; and

 

WHEREAS, pursuant to State Law, the Town Council of the Town of Portola Valley adopted Resolution No. 2051-2003 giving notice of holding a General Election on Tuesday, November 4, 2003, for the purpose of electing two members of the Town Council and requesting the Board of Supervisors to render specified services to the Town relating to the conduct of the General Election; and

 

WHEREAS, pursuant to State Law, the City Council of the City of San Bruno adopted Resolution No. 2003-52 giving notice of holding a General Election on Tuesday, November 4, 2003, for the purpose of electing one City Mayor, and two members to the City Council and requesting the Board of Supervisors to render specified services to the Town relating to the conduct of the General Election; and

 

WHEREAS, pursuant to State Law, the City Council of the City of San Mateo adopted Resolution No. 56 giving notice of holding a General Election on Tuesday, November 4, 2003, for the purpose of electing two members of the City Council and requesting the Board of Supervisors to render specified services to the City relating to the conduct of the General Election; and

 

WHEREAS, pursuant to State Law, the City Council of the City of South San Francisco adopted Resolution No. 52-2003 giving notice of holding a General Election on Tuesday, November 4, 2003, for the purpose of electing two members of the City Council and requesting the Board of Supervisors to render specified services to the City relating to the conduct of the General Election; and

 

WHEREAS, pursuant to State Law, the Town Council of the Town of Woodside adopted Resolution No. 2003-6394 giving notice of holding a General Election on Tuesday, November 4, 2003, for the purpose of electing four members of the Town Council within Districts 1, 3, 5, and 7, respectively, and requesting the Board of Supervisors to render specified services to the Town relating to the conduct of the General Election; and

 

WHEREAS, the Chief Elections Officer has been asked to perform certain services in conjunction with this Election; and

 

WHEREAS, the Chief Elections Officer is agreeable to providing election services to the Coastside County Water District, City of Belmont, City of Brisbane, City of Foster City, City of Millbrae, Town of Portola Valley, City of San Bruno, City of San Mateo, City of South San Francisco, and the Town of Woodside; and

 

WHEREAS, in consideration of services and supplies provided by the Chief Elections Officer, the Coastside County Water District, City of Belmont, City of Brisbane, City of Foster City, City of Millbrae, Town of Portola Valley, City of San Bruno, City of San Mateo, City of South San Francisco, and the Town of Woodside will reimburse the County for the costs of these services and supplies.

 

NOW THEREFORE, IT IS HEREBY DETERMINED AND ORDERED
that the President of this Board of Supervisors authorizes the Chief Elections Officer to render specified election services for the November 4, 2003 Special Election.
