RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE EXECUTION OF A SIXTH AMENDMENT TO THE AGREEMENT WITH OPPORTUNITIES INDUSTRIALIZATION CENTER-WEST (OICW)

RESOLVED, by the Board of Supervisors of the County of San Mateo, State of California, that

 

WHEREAS, on July 25, 2000, the Board of Supervisors authorized the execution of an Agreement with Opportunities Industrialization Center-West (OICW) to provide Work First structured job search workshops and network activities, and One-Stop Career Center services to Workforce Investment Act eligible participants; and

 

WHEREAS, the Agreement has been amended on five previous occasions to add Comprehensive Year-Round Youth Services, to extend the term of the Agreement, to increase the amount of the Agreement, to reduce the funds from the One-Stop Career Center Services in Menlo Park for FY 2001-02, to support the expansion of the PeninsulaWorks One-Stop system, to increase services through the Jobs Now program and the One-Stop Career Center, to extend the Agreement for OICW, to offer a course in Medical Billing and Coding instructions and employability skills training targeted to dislocated workers, and to continue vocational training services for CalWORKs participants; and

 

WHEREAS, the County and the Contractor wish to futher amend the Agreement to increase the amount for the purpose of continuing Comprehensive Year-Round Employment and Training Related Services to in-school and out-of-school youth; Jobs Now and One-Stop Career Center Services; and

 

WHEREAS, such services will conform to all WIA requirements; and

 

WHEREAS, this Board has been presented with a form of this Sixth Amendment and said Board has examined and approved same as to both form and content and desires to enter into the same.

 

NOW THEREFORE, IT IS HEREBY DETERMINED AND ORDERED that the President of the Board of Supervisors is hereby authorized and directed to execute said Sixth Amendment for and on behalf of the County of San Mateo, and the Clerk of the Board shall attest her signature thereto.
