RESOLUTION WAIVING THE REQUEST FOR PROPOSAL PROCESS AND AUTHORIZING THE EXECUTION OF AN AGREEMENT BETWEEN THE COUNTY OF SAN MATEO AND UNISYS CORPORATION

RESOLVED, by the Board of Supervisors of the County of San Mateo, State of California, that

WHEREAS, there has been presented to this Board of Supervisors for its consideration and acceptance an Agreement, reference to which is hereby made for further particulars, whereby Unisys Corporation will provide the Human Services Agency materials and workmanship for four (4) projects as follows: 1) Purchase and installation of an emergency diesel generator at the Harbor Campus; 2) Purchase and installation of air conditioning system at Huntington Avenue; 3) Electrical upgrade at Huntington Avenue; and 4) Design and installation of data/voice wiring at Quarry Road; and

WHEREAS, the best interests of the County of San Mateo would be served by waiver of the Request for Proposal. The selection of this Contractor was based on cost and their broad-based private and public sector experience. Similar implementation contracts with Unisys have proven extremely successful in terms of quality, effectiveness and timeliness; and

WHEREAS, this Board has been presented with a form of such Agreement and said Board has examined and approved it as to both form and content and desires to enter into same.

NOW THEREFORE, IT IS HEREBY DETERMINED AND ORDERED that the President of the Board of Supervisors is hereby authorized and directed to execute the Agreement for and on behalf of the County of San Mateo; and the Clerk of this Board shall attest the President’s signature thereto.

BE IT FURTHER ORDERED AND DETERMINED, that the Request for Proposal process is hereby waived.
