RESOLUTION TO HONOR PATRIOT DAY (September 11) 2003 |

RESOLVED, by the Board of Supervisors of the County of San Mateo, State of California, that |
|
WHEREAS, on September 11, 2001 our country lost more than 3,000 innocent lives to an unparalleled act of terrorism; and as a people, we lost our innocence; |
|
WHEREAS,; in 2002, President George W. Bush proclaimed September 11, Patriot Day, to honor and remember those who perished, reflect on our nations' loss; and to renew the American spirit; |
|
WHEREAS, On September 11, 2003, the County of San Mateo will join with the nation to honor Patriot Day by observing a moment of silence at 8:46 a.m., the time the first plane hit the Twin Tower and flags at County facilities will respectfully be flown at half-staff; |
|
NOW, THEREFORE, IT IS HEREBY DETERMINED AND ORDERED that the Board of Supervisors proclaim and honor September 11, 2003 as Patriot Day to honor the more than 3,000 Americans who lost their lives as a result of terrorism. |
