RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CHIEF ELECTIONS OFFICER TO RENDER SPECIFIED ELECTION SERVICES FOR THE CITY OF HALF MOON BAY, TOWN OF PORTOLA VALLEY, CITY OF REDWOOD CITY, BRISBANE SCHOOL DISTRICT, MENLO PARK CITY ELEMENTARY SCHOOL DISTRICT, AND THE SOUTH COUNTY FIRE PROTECTION AUTHORITY PARAMEDIC AND FIRE FIGHTING SERVICES COMMUNITY FACILITIES DISTRICT No. 2003-1 IN CONJUNCTION WITH THE CONSOLIDATED ELECTION TO BE HELD ON
TUESDAY, NOVEMBER 4, 2003

RESOLVED, by the Board of Supervisors of the County of San Mateo, State of California, that

 

WHEREAS, pursuant to State Law, the City Council of the City of Half Moon Bay adopted Resolution No. C-57-03 giving notice of holding a Special Election on Tuesday, November 4, 2003, for the purpose of submitting an initiative measure to the voters of the City and requesting the Board of Supervisors to render specified services to the City relating to the conduct of the Special Election; and

 

WHEREAS, pursuant to State Law, the Town Council of the Town of Portola Valley adopted Resolution No. 2075-2003 giving notice of holding a Special Election on Tuesday, November 4, 2003, for the purpose of submitting a referendum measure to the voters of the Town and requesting the Board of Supervisors to render specified services to the Town relating to the conduct of the Special Election; and

 

WHEREAS, pursuant to State Law, the City Council of the City of Redwood City adopted Resolution No. 14538 amended by Resolution No. 14546, and Resolution No. 14539 both giving notice of holding a Special Election on Tuesday, November 4, 2003, for the purpose of submitting two measures to the voters of the City and requesting the Board of Supervisors to render specified services to the City relating to the conduct of the Special Election; and

 

WHEREAS, pursuant to State Law, the Governing Body of the Brisbane School District adopted Resolution 2003-2004, No. II giving notice of holding a Special Election on Tuesday, November 4, 2003, for the purpose of submitting a bond measure to the voters of the District and requesting the Board of Supervisors to render specified services to the District relating to the conduct of the Special Election; and

 

WHEREAS, pursuant to State Law, the Governing Body of the Menlo Park City School District adopted Resolution Nos. 03/04-1 and 03/04-2 giving notice of holding a Special Election on Tuesday, November 4, 2003, for the purpose of submitting two special tax measures to the voters of the District and requesting the Board of Supervisors to render specified services to the District relating to the conduct of the Special Election; and

 

WHEREAS, pursuant to State Law, the Board of Commissioners of the South County Fire Protection Authority, acting as the Legislative Body of the South County Fire Protection Authority Paramedic and Fire Fighting Services Community Facilities District No. 2003-1 adopted Resolution No. 2003-18 giving notice of holding a Special Election on Tuesday, November 4, 2003, for the purpose of submitting a special tax to the voters of the District and requesting the Board of Supervisors to render specified services to the District relating to the conduct of the Special Election; and

 

WHEREAS, the Chief Elections Officer has been asked to perform certain services in conjunction with this Election; and

 

WHEREAS, the Chief Elections Officer is agreeable to providing election services to the City of Half Moon Bay, Town of Portola Valley, City of Redwood City, Brisbane School District, Menlo Park City Elementary School District, and the South County Fire Protection Authority Paramedic and Fire Fighting Services Community Facilities District No. 2003-1; and

 

WHEREAS, in consideration of services and supplies provided by the Chief Elections Officer, the City of Half Moon Bay, Town of Portola Valley, City of Redwood City, Brisbane School District, Menlo Park City Elementary School District, and the South County Fire Protection Authority Paramedic and Fire Fighting Services Community Facilities District No. 2003-1 will reimburse the County for the costs of these services and supplies.

 

NOW THEREFORE, IT IS HEREBY DETERMINED AND ORDERED
that the President of this Board of Supervisors authorizes the Chief Elections Officer to render specified election services for the November 4, 2003 Consolidated Election.
