RESOLUTION WAIVING THE REQUEST FOR PROPOSAL PROCESS AND AUTHORIZING THE EMPLOYEE AND PUBLIC SERVICES DIRECTOR TO EXTECUTE A FIRST AMENDMENT TO AN AGREEMENT WITH ADVANCE RECRUITMENT ADVERTISING AGENCY, INC. FOR ADVERTISING SERVICES

RESOLVED, by the Board of Supervisors of the County of San Mateo, State of California, that

WHEREAS, the Board previously directed the President of the Board to sign an agreement with Advance Recruitment Advertising Agency, Inc. for comprehensive recruitment advertising services; and

WHEREAS, the Employee and Public Services Director has recommended that the County amend the agreement with Advance Recruitment Advertising Agency, Inc. to extend the agreement for two additional years from October 1, 2003 through September 30, 2005 and to increase the maximum amount of the contract from $980,000 to $1,380,000.

WHEREAS, it is in the best interests of the County to waive the Request for Proposal process because of the quality and cost of the services provided by this contractor; and

WHEREAS, there has been presented to this Board of Supervisors for its consideration and acceptance, an amendment to an agreement with Advance Recruitment Advertising Agency, Inc., reference to which is hereby made for further particulars; and

WHEREAS, this Board of Supervisors has examined and approved said agreement and amendment as to form and content and desires to enter into same;

NOW THEREFORE, IT IS HEREBY DETERMINED AND ORDERED that (1) the Request for Proposal process is waived and (2) the Employee and Public Services Director of the County of San Mateo be, and is hereby authorized and directed to execute said amendment to an agreement for and on behalf of the County of San Mateo with Advance Recruitment Advertising Agency, Inc.
