RESOLUTION WAIVING THE BID PROCESS AND AUTHORIZING THE PURCHASING AGENT TO ENTER INTO A 60-MONTH PURCHASE AGREEMENT WITH SCRIPTPRO TO PROVIDE A ROBOTIC PHARMACY DISPENSING SYSTEM

RESOLVED, by the Board of Supervisors of the County of San Mateo, State of California, that

WHEREAS, Ordinance Code Section 2.92.160 authorizes the Board of Supervisors to waive the Request for Proposals process in any situation where the Board of Supervisors determines that the best interest of the county could best be served without the necessity of proposals; and

WHEREAS, San Mateo Medical Center has asked the Board to waive the Request for Proposals requirements for the provision of a robotic pharmacy dispensing system; and

WHEREAS, SB 1975 passed by the California State Legislator requires every general acute care hospital to adopt a formal plan for minimizing medication-related errors as a condition of licensure; and

WHEREAS, a robotic pharmacy dispensing system will eliminate or substantially reduce medication errors; and

WHEREAS, ScriptPro will provide San Mateo Medical Center with a robotic pharmacy dispensing system; and

NOW THEREFORE, IT IS HEREBY DETERMINED AND ORDERED that the President of this Board of Supervisors hereby waive the bid process, and hereby authorized and directed to execute said Agreement for and on behalf of the County of San Mateo, and the Clerk of this Board shall attest the President's signatures thereto.
