BOARD OF SUPERVISORS, COUNTY OF SAN MATEO, STATE OF CALIFORNIA

RESOLUTION FIXING THE RATES OF COUNTY AND DISTRICT TAXES

RESOLVED, by the Board of Supervisors of the County of San Mateo, State of California, that since the passage of Proposition 13, the County is required to set tax rates for general obligation bonds approved by the voters for taxing jurisdiction within the County;

 

WHEREAS, pursuant to the provision of Government Code Section 29100, the Board is required to adopt by resolution the rates of taxes on the secured roll by the first business day of September unless the Board passes a resolution to extend the deadline to each October 3rd; and

 

WHEREAS, The Controller has calculated such rates for Fiscal Year 2003-2004 based on a net assessed valuation of $89,809,551,893; and

 

WHEREAS, The 2003-2004 tax rates are set forth in the attached schedules for adoption by your Board; and

 

WHEREAS, If the tax rates are not set, the taxing jurisdictions will no be able to meet their required debt service requirements.

 

NOW THEREFORE, IT IS HEREBY DETERMINED AND ORDERED:

(1) That the date by which the Board must adopt by resolution the rates on the secured roll is permanently extend to each October 3rd, and (2) That pursuant to the law in such cases made and provided, the Board of Supervisors of the County of San Mateo, State of California, does hereby finally fix the rates of County and Districts Taxes, in the number of cents levied for each fund upon $100 of assessed valuation of the taxable property of San Mateo County for the fiscal year 2003-2004, in the sums and items and amounts as particularly set forth in the papers attached hereto and marked EXHIBIT "A", and Schedule 18 and 18A.
