Resolution Authorizing the President of the Board to Execute an Agreement for Staff Services with the South Bayside Waste Management Authority

RESOLVED, by the Board of Supervisors of the County of San Mateo, State of California, that

 

WHEREAS, the South Bayside Waste Management Authority ("Authority") is comprised of the cities of Atherton, Belmont, Burlingame, East Palo Alto, Foster City, Hillsborough, Menlo Park, Redwood City, San Carlos and San Mateo, the County of San Mateo, and the West Bay Sanitary District; and

 

WHEREAS, the County of San Mateo ("County") and the Authority have previously entered into an Agreement for Staff Services dated December 5, 1995, and a First Amendment to Agreement for Staff Services dated April 14, 1998, whereby the County hires and employs, and the Authority funds, two full-time staff persons to perform work on behalf of the Authority; and

 

WHEREAS, said Agreement for Staff Services, as amended, will expire on December 31, 2003, and the Authority and the County desire to enter into a new agreement whereby the County will continue to provide staff services to the Authority.

 

WHEREAS, there has been presented to this Board of Supervisors for its consideration and acceptance, a new Agreement for Staff Services to the South Bayside Waste Management Authority, whereby the County will employ, and the Authority fund, two full-time staff persons to perform work on behalf of the Authority and this Board has examined said Agreement and desires to enter into same.

 

NOW THEREFORE, IT IS HEREBY DETERMINED AND ORDERED that the President of this Board of Supervisors be, and is hereby, authorized and directed to execute said new Agreement for Staff Services to the South Bayside Waste Management Authority for and on behalf of the County of San Mateo, and the Clerk of this Board shall attest the President's signature thereto.
