RESOLUTION RATIFYING THE TEMPORARY SUSPENSION OF COYOTE POINT MARINA BERTH RENTAL FEES DUE TO BERTH DEPTH PROBLEMS

RESOLVED, by the Board of Supervisors of the County of San Mateo, State of California, that

WHEREAS, the Coyote Point Marina dredging project has been delayed due to budget considerations, regulatory processes and environmental constraints; and

WHEREAS, the delay has impacted a number of berths within the harbor; and

WHEREAS, there may be insufficient and inadequate space to temporarily move all of the impacted boats to other areas of the harbor; and

WHEREAS, during past harbor dredging the Harbor Master has had the ability to allow berthers to temporarily leave the harbor during dredging episodes and to return to their previously assigned slips; and

WHEREAS, it is in the County's financial interest to temporarily accommodate such a move;

NOW THEREFORE, IT IS HEREBY DETERMINED AND ORDERED that the San Mateo County Board of Supervisors hereby ratifies the action of the Director of the Parks and Recreation Division to temporarily suspend Berth Rental Fees for Coyote Point Marina berthers who cannot utilize their berth due to inadequate water depth if an alternative location cannot be found within the Marina.
