BOARD OF SUPERVISORS, COUNTY OF SAN MATEO, STATE OF CALIFORNIA

RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE PRESIDENT OF THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS TO ENTER INTO A GRANT AGREEMENT WITH THE CALIFORNIA INTEGRATED WASTE MANAGEMENT BOARD (CIWMB) AND DESIGNATING THE LEAD AGENCY IN SAN MATEO COUNTY TO IMPLEMENT A REGIONAL USED OIL COLLECTION PROGRAM

RESOLVED, by the Board of Supervisors of the County of San Mateo, State of California, that

WHEREAS, the people of the State of California have enacted the California Oil Recycling Enhancement Act that provides for Used Oil Recycling Block Grants to eligible cities and counties for establishing and maintaining local used oil collection programs that encourage recycling or appropriate disposal of used oil; and

WHEREAS, the California Integrated Waste Management Board has been delegated the responsibility for administering the Grant, which includes procedures governing the application by and payment to cities and counties; and;

WHEREAS, the County of San Mateo will serve as the lead jurisdiction in the implementation of a regional used oil collection program;

NOW THEREFORE, IT IS HEREBY DETERMINED AND ORDERED that the President of the Board of Supervisors accept grant funds from the California Integrated Waste Management Board (CIWMB) for and on behalf of the County of San Mateo, and the Clerk of the Board shall attest the President's signature thereto.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED the County of San Mateo is designated at the lead agency in San Mateo County to implement a regional used oil collection program; and

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Director of Health Services or designee be, and is hereby authorized, to sign all minor amendments and modifications to the grant agreement with CIWMB not to exceed an aggregate of $25,000 annually.; and is authorized to sign any and all other documents necessary to secure grant funds and implement the grant project.
