FROM: |

SUBJECT: |
Second Amendment to the Agreement with Achieve Healthcare Technologies |
|
Recommendation |
Adopt a resolution authorizing the President of the Board to execute a second amendment to the agreement with Achieve Healthcare Technologies. |
|
Background |
After a Request for Proposals process conducted in May 2003, Achieve Healthcare Technologies was evaluated as having the best integrated Long Term Care computer system. On March 18, 2003, the Purchasing Agent approved an agreement with Achieve Healthcare Technologies. Achieve Healthcare Technologies installed, on the County's computer equipment, selected applications of Contractor's PathLinks® soft system for the clinical and financial operation of the San Mateo Medical Center's Long Term Care Services, and is providing maintenance/support and implementation services. On September 9, 2003, your Board approved an amendment to the agreement with Achieve Healthcare Technologies in order to include the 281 Burlingame Healthcare Center beds in the contract. |
|
Discussion |
The contract with Achieve Healthcare Technologies is being amended to increase the maximum amount of the agreement by $1,050 to purchase an additional link license to enable San Mateo Medical Center to perform complete testing between the Invision System Open Link and the Achieve System. Testing needs to be performed on all upgrades in the "Test" Environment before going "Live" with the system.
The amendment has been reviewed and approved by Risk Management, County Counsel, and Information Services. |
|
Vision Alignment |
This Contract keeps the commitment to Responsive, effective and collaborative government and goal number 20: government decisions are based on careful consideration of future impact, rather than temporary relief or immediate gain. The agreement contributes to this commitment by providing San Mateo Medical Center with the best integrated Long Term Care system that is window-based, is easy to use and has an enhanced medication module. |
|
Fiscal Impact |
The agreement is being amended to increase the maximum by $1,050, from $105,919.64 to $106,969.64. Funds are included in San Mateo Medical Center's FY2003-04 Adopted Budget. |
