RESOLUTION GRANTING BID RELIEF AND AUTHORIZING EXECUTION OF REVISION ORDER AND ASSIGNMENTS RELATED TO SAN MATEO COUNTY YOUTH SERVICES CENTER

RESOLVED, by the Board of Supervisors of the County of San Mateo, State of California, that

WHEREAS, this Board previously executed a contract with Turner Construction Co. for construction management in connection with the San Mateo County Youth Services Center pursuant to which all construction work is performed by trade contractors whose bids are assigned to Turner Construction Co.; and

WHEREAS, the construction work has been advertised and bid by the County in full compliance with the Public Contracts Code and Bid Packages 1, and 2 and 3 (combined) have been approved; and

WHEREAS, the lowest bidder, DeSilva Gates, on Bid Packages 2 and 3 (combined) has requested relief from its bid and County wishes to grant such relief and accept and assign the bid of Granite Rock, DBA Pavex Construction Division on that bid package, and accept and assign the bid of Granite Construction on Bid Package 1; and

WHEREAS, to accomplish the assignment the County now wishes to approve execution of the assignment of trade contractors, the form of which was approved at the time of the approval of the contract with Turner, and approve the Revision Order, a form of which is presented for this Board's consideration and acceptance and reference to which is hereby made for further particulars;

NOW THEREFORE, IT IS HEREBY DETERMINED AND ORDERED that the recitals stated above are adopted as findings of this Board, the President of this Board of Supervisors be, and is hereby authorized and directed to grant relief to DeSilva Gates on Bid Packages 2 and 3 (combined), execute said Revision Order for and on behalf of the County of San Mateo, and the Clerk of the Board shall attest her/his signature thereto and the Assistant County Manager is authorized and directed to execute said Assignments.
