RESOLUTION WAIVING THE REQUEST FOR PROPOSAL PROCESS AND AUTHORIZING THE EPS DIRECTOR TO SIGN AN AGREEMENT WITH SECURE HORIZONS UPON APPROVAL BY COUNTY COUNSEL FOR PROVISION OF HEALTH PLAN BENEFITS TO COUNTY RETIREES AND THEIR DEPENDENTS FOR JANUARY 1, 2004 THROUGH DECEMBER 31, 2004.

RESOLVED, by the Board of Supervisors of the County of San Mateo, State of California, that

WHEREAS, it is in the best interests of the County and participants in the plan to retain Secure Horizons because its continuation provides affordable coverage with little disruption in doctor-patient relationships; and

WHEREAS, the County desires to approve an agreement with Secure Horizons to provide coverage from January 1, 2004 through December 1, 2004; and

WHEREAS, the Board desires to have the EPS Director sign the agreement upon approval by County Counsel; and

NOW THEREFORE, IT IS HEREBY DETERMINED AND ORDERED that the Request for Proposal is waived and the EPS Director is authorized to sign the agreement with Secure Horizons upon approval of its form by County Counsel.
