RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING EXECUTION OF AN AMENDMENT

TO THE AGREEMENT WITH PSYCHIATRISTS ONLY

RESOLVED, by the Board of Supervisors of the County of San Mateo, State of California, that

WHEREAS, it is necessary to contract with temporary psychiatrists to provide San Mateo Medical Center with access to psychiatric staff available to fill in for vacancies when necessary and to maintain maximum access to the available work force; and.

WHEREAS, on June 24, 2003, the Chief Executive Officer of San Mateo County approved an agreement with Psychiatrists Only for $25,000, subsequently increased to $75,000 on August 8, 2003; and

WHEREAS, due to vacancies and shortages in the Psychiatric Department and an increase in the number of patients seen at San Mateo Medical Center, it is necessary to increase the maximum amount of the Agreement; and

WHEREAS, there have been presented to this Board of Supervisors for its consideration and acceptance an amendment to the agreement, reference to which is hereby made for further particulars, whereby the maximum amount of the agreement with Psychiatrists Only to provide temporary services to San Mateo Medical Center shall be increased by $150,000, from $75,000 to $225,000; and

WHEREAS, this Board has been presented with a form of the amendment to the agreement and has examined and approved it as to both form and content and desires to enter into the amendment to the agreement:

NOW THEREFORE, IT IS HEREBY DETERMINED AND ORDERED that the President of this Board of Supervisors be, and is hereby authorized and directed to execute said amendment to the agreement for and on behalf of the County of San Mateo, and the Clerk of this Board shall attest the President's signature thereto.
