RESOLUTION TO SUPPORT THE NOMINATION OF THE FOLGER ESTATE STABLE HISTORIC DISTRICT IN WUNDERLICH COUNTY PARK TO BE PLACED ON THE NATIONAL REGISTER OF HISTORIC PLACES

RESOLVED, by the Board of Supervisors of the County of San Mateo, State of California, that

WHEREAS, the County acquired Wunderlich County Park in 1973 and that Park contains several structures that are illustrative of the historic development of the County; and

WHEREAS, the structures in Wunderlich Park have fallen into disrepair and need substantial rehabilitation; and

WHEREAS, the County has directed the San Mateo County Parks and Recreation Division to seek outside funding to address capital funding needs; and

WHEREAS, the Friends of Huddart and Wunderlich Park have assisted the County in assessing the value and status of these historic structures and have brought to light their significance in how the development of the mid peninsula took place; and

WHEREAS, the Friends have caused to be prepared documentation to validate that historic value and propose to nominate the District for placement on the National Register of Historic Places;

NOW THEREFORE, IT IS HEREBY DETERMINED AND ORDERED that the San Mateo County Board of Supervisors by adoption of this resolution hereby support the efforts of the Friends of Huddart and Wunderlich Parks to place the Folger Estate Stable Historic District in Wunderlich Park on the National Register of Historic Places.
