RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING EXECUTION OF AMENDMENT NO. 2 TO THE EXISTING AGREEMENT (NO. 65036) BETWEEN THE COUNTY OF SAN MATEO AND THE SAN MATEO COUNTY TRANSIT DISTRICT

RESOLVED, by the Board of Supervisors of the County of San Mateo, State of California, that

WHEREAS, this Board of Supervisors and the Governing Board of the San Mateo County Transit District (SAMTRANS), for and on behalf of SAMTRANS and the Peninsula Corridor Joint Powers Authority did, on January 29, 2002, enter into an Agreement (No. 65036) for the provision of law enforcement services by the Sheriff's Office and public safety dispatch services by the Public Safety Communications Division of Employee and Public Services to said entities; and

WHEREAS, this Board approved Amendment No. 1 (Resolution 65587) to said Agreement on September 24, 2002, extending public safety communications services for the duration of said Agreement; and

WHEREAS, this Board finds that it is now necessary and desirable that the existing Agreement be further amended to add two additional positions to the personnel roster provided to SAMTRANS and CalTrain under this Agreement, with full reimbursement to County of the costs of said positions, and the management of SAMTRANS do also find the same and are recommending same, and this Board has been presented with a form of said Amendment No. 2, with a total contractual reimbursement of $2,209,838 over the three-year period, and has examined it as to both form and content and desires to execute said Amendment:

NOW THEREFORE, IT IS HEREBY DETERMINED AND ORDERED THAT: the President of this Board be, and is hereby authorized and directed to execute said Amendment No. 2 to the Agreement between the County of San Mateo and SAMTRANS for and on behalf of the County, and the Clerk of the Board shall attest the President's signature thereto.
