BOARD OF SUPERVISORS, COUNTY OF SAN MATEO, STATE OF CALIFORNIA

RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE EXECUTION OF AN AGREEMENT WITH STATE DEPARTMENT OF ALCOHOL AND DRUG PROGRAMS AND AUTHORIZING THE DIRECTOR OF THE HUMAN SERVICES AGENCY TO EXECUTE AMENDMENTS TO THE AGREEMENT ON BEHALF OF THE COUNTY OF SAN MATEO

RESOLVED, by the Board of Supervisors of the County of San Mateo, State of California, that

WHEREAS, the Health and Safety Code provides that counties shall enter into Negotiated Net Amount (NNA) agreements with the State of California whereby the state provides major funding for the counties to provide alcohol and drug prevention and treatment services; and

WHEREAS, the State has recently presented the County of San Mateo with an NNA Agreement in the amount of $18,044,019 for the term of July 1, 2004 through June 30, 2008, which includes combined Negotiated Net Amount (NNA) and Drug Medi-Cal (DMC) funding for each fiscal year, as follows:
1) $6,014,673 for FY 04/05, 2) $6,014,673 for FY 05/06, 3) $6,014,673 for FY 06/07-08 ; and

WHEREAS, it is expedient and efficient for the Human Services Agency Director to sign future amendments to the state NNA contract; and

WHEREAS, this Board has been presented with a form of this Agreement and has examined and approved it as to both form and content and desires to enter into same.

NOW THEREFORE, IT IS HEREBY DETERMINED AND ORDERED that the President of this Board of Supervisors is hereby authorized and directed to execute said Agreement for and on behalf of the County of San Mateo; and the Clerk of this Board shall attest the President's signature thereto.

BE IT FURTHER DETERMINED AND ORDERED that the Human Services Agency Director be authorized to execute future amendments to the state NNA contract.
