BOARD OF SUPERVISORS, COUNTY OF SAN MATEO, STATE OF CALIFORNIA

RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING EXECUTION OF AN AGREEMENT WITH
THE SEQUOIA UNION HIGH SCHOOL DISTRICT FOR THE SERVICES OF AN ON-SITE SCHOOL RESOURCE OFFICER (SRO).

 

    RESOLVED, by the Board of Supervisors of the County of San Mateo, State of California, that

    WHEREAS, there has been presented to this Board of Supervisors for its consideration and acceptance an Agreement, reference to which is hereby made for further particulars, whereby the Sheriff’s Office shall assign to the Sequoia Union High School District (SUHSD) one (1) on-site School Resource Officer (Deputy Sheriff) for provision of crime prevention services during the regular school year; and

WHEREAS, this Board has reviewed the SRO Program and heard about this proposed Agreement from SUHSD officials during the Fiscal 2004-05 County budget hearings, and expressed support for same, and directed the Sheriff of San Mateo County to bring this Agreement forth for its consideration; and

    WHEREAS, both parties now wish to enter into the Agreement, for a 10-month term, commencing August 30, 2004 through June 17, 2005, for an amount not to exceed $49,875 paid to County by SUHSD; and

    WHEREAS, this Board has been presented with a form of such Agreement and has examined and approved same as to both form and content, and desires to enter into same:

NOW THEREFORE, IT IS HEREBY DETERMINED AND ORDERED THAT the President of this Board of Supervisors be, and is hereby authorized to, execute the Agreement with the Sequoia Union High School District, for and on behalf of the County of San Mateo, and the Clerk of this Board of Supervisors shall attest the President’s signature thereto.

IT IS FURTHER DETERMINED AND ORDERED THAT in the event the Sheriff and SHUSD agree to extend the services of the assigned Sheriff’s Office SRO to include a summer session at Woodside High School, the Sheriff is authorized to execute an Amendment to this Agreement for the purpose of continuing the services through the summer session according to the same cost-sharing arrangement.
