RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE PRESIDENT OF THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS TO ACCEPT GRANT FUNDING FROM THE HEALTH RESOURCES SERVICES ADMINISTRATION (HRSA) IN THE AMOUNT OF $439,909 AND FROM THE UNITED WAY OF THE BAY AREA, VIA PENINSULA COMMUNITY FOUNDATION (PCF), IN THE AMOUNT OF $13,860.

RESOLVED, by the Board of Supervisors of the County of San Mateo, State of California, that

WHEREAS, the County was funded by the Health Resources and Services Administration for the Health Community Access Program to link health coverage for children and families to targeted and coordinated activities that reduce childhood obesity, diabetes, and related chronic conditions;

WHEREAS, the County has been awarded $439,909 in grant funding from the Health Resources and Services Administration through August 31, 2004; and

WHEREAS, the County has been awarded $13,860 in unanticipated revenue from the United Way of the Bay Area via Peninsula Community Foundation;

NOW THEREFORE, IT IS HEREBY DETERMINED AND ORDERED that the President of the Board of Supervisors be, and is hereby authorized and directed to accept the grant funding from the Health Resources and Services Administration and the United Way of the Bay Area via Peninsula Community Foundation for and on behalf of the County of San Mateo and the Clerk of this Board shall attest the President's signature thereto.
