RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE EXECUTION OF THE SEVENTH AMENDMENT TO THE AGREEMENT WITH OPPORTUNITIES INDUSTRIALIZATION CENTER WEST

RESOLVED, by the Board of Supervisors of the County of San Mateo, State of California, that

WHEREAS, on July 25, 2000, the Board of Supervisors authorized the execution of an Agreement with Opportunities Industrialization Center-West (OICW) to provide Work First structured job search workshops and network activities and One-Stop Career Center services to Workforce Investment Act eligible participants, which has been amended on six previous occasions; and

WHEREAS, the County of San Mateo and OICW desire to enter into a Seventh Amendment to the Agreement to extend the term and increase funding for the Medical Billing and Coding, and Pharmacy Technician section to allow OICW to provide recruitment, assessment, case management, job development, placement and post placement follow-up services for the Medical Billing and Coding course, and for the Pharmacy Technician course offered through Mission College of Santa Clara to be held on-site at OICW, and to serve additional Out-of-School youth in the Year Round Youth program; and

WHEREAS, such services will conform to all WIA requirements; and

WHEREAS, this Board has been presented with a form of such Seventh Amendment and said Board has examined and approved same as to both form and content and desires to enter into the same.

NOW THEREFORE, IT IS HEREBY DETERMINED AND ORDERED that the President of this Board of Supervisors is hereby authorized and directed to execute said Seventh Amendment to the Agreement for and on behalf of the County of San Mateo; and the Clerk of this Board shall attest the President's signature thereto.
