RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING EXECUTION OF (1) AN AGREEMENT BETWEEN THE COUNTY OF SAN MATEO AND THE CITY AND COUNTY OF SAN FRANCISCO (2) AN AGREEMENT BETWEEN THE COUNTY OF SAN MATEO AND PALCARE FOR THE PROVISION OF CHILD CARE SERVICES

RESOLVED, by the Board of Supervisors of the County of San Mateo, State of California, that

 

WHEREAS, the County of San Mateo has had collaborative agreements with the City and County of San Francisco, through its Airport Commission, ("Airport") since 1991 guaranteeing revenue for child care services; and

 

WHEREAS, the County owns the facility at 945 California Drive in Burlingame which currently accommodates PALCARE; and

 

WHEREAS, on August 6, 2002 the County entered into two separate one-year agreements with the Airport and PALCARE allowing PALCARE to utilize funds previously received by the County from the Airport to cover operational costs, not to exceed $30,000 per month and guarantee one-half of its child care slots to a maximum of 134 slots for Airport employees; and

 

WHEREAS, all parties wish to renew agreements for one-year, with four annual options, to provide low-cost extended quality childcare for employees of the Airport and its tenants using Airport operating funds at an annual amount not to exceed $250,000; and

 

NOW THEREFORE, IT IS HEREBY DETERMINED AND ORDERED that the County Manager or his designee is hereby authorized and directed to (1) execute an agreement with the City and County of San Francisco, through its Airport Commission, to provide for funding a child care facility located at 945 California Drive in Burlingame; and (2) execute an agreement with PALCARE for the child care services at 945 California Drive in Burlingame, providing 100 child care slots will be reserved for employees at San Francisco International Airport, and the Clerk of the Board shall attest his signature thereto.
