Background |
On October 7, 2003, the San Mateo County Board of Supervisors adopted Resolution Number 66300, approving the California Department of Aging (CDA) Agreement No. CB-0304-08. The original Agreement did not include funding for the Senior Companion and Brown Bag Programs. Recently the State has decided to include funding for these important programs in the form of an amendment. |

Discussion |
Amendment 1 adds $42,229 in funding from the State to include the Senior Companion Program ($17,249) to provide 3,132 hours of peer support to at-risk seniors and the Brown Bag Program ($23,425) to provide 2,500 low-income clients with 54,000 bags of food. It also includes a small increase to Administration ($1,555) due to the additional programs. This Amendment does not change the term of the original Agreement or funding of other programs. |

Vision Alignment |
This Amendment to the State agreement for CBSP keeps the commitment of ensuring basic health and safety for all and goal number 8: People- Help vulnerable people- the aged, disabled, mentally ill, at-risk youth and others-achieve a better quality of life.
