RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING EXECUTION OF A LICENSE AGREEMENT BETWEEN THE COUNTY OF SAN MATEO AND THE CALIFORNIA BROADCASTERS ASSOCIATION FOR THE USE OF A PORTION OF 2200 BROADWAY, REDWOOD CITY AS AN OVERFLOW PRESSROOM IN CONNECTION WITH THE SCOTT PETERSON TRIAL

RESOLVED, by the Board of Supervisors of the County of San Mateo, State of California, that

WHEREAS, there has been presented to this Board of Supervisors for its consideration and acceptance a License Agreement, reference to which is hereby made for further particulars, whereby the County of San Mateo shall permit the California Broadcasters Association to use the third floor of the Fiscal Annex located at 2200 Broadway, Redwood City as an overflow press room with a monitored live audio feed from the Court during the Peterson Trial in accordance with the terms and conditions contained in said License Agreement; and

WHEREAS, both parties now wish to enter into said Agreement commencing effective March 1, 2004 and continuing for the duration of the Peterson Trial, subject to the right of the County Manager to terminate the agreement, for a total obligation equal to the County's actual cost to provide special services and accommodations to the media, estimated to be $69,834 for a six-month period, and subject to adjustment as set forth in the License Agreement; and

WHEREAS, this Board has been presented with a form of such License Agreement and said Board has examined and approved same as to both form and content and desires to enter into same:

NOW THEREFORE, IT IS HEREBY DETERMINED AND ORDERED

1. That the President of this Board of Supervisors be, and is hereby, authorized and directed to execute said License Agreement for and on behalf of the County of San Mateo, and the Clerk of this Board shall attest the President's signature thereto.

2. That the County Manager, or his designee, is hereby authorized to execute on behalf of the County, any notices and documents in connection with the License Agreement, including without limitation the right to terminate the License Agreement.
