RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE ASSISTANT COUNTY MANAGER TO ACCEPT BIDS AND EXECUTE DOCUMENTS RELATED TO THE YOUTH SERVICES CENTER

RESOLVED, by the Board of Supervisors of the County of San Mateo, State of California, that

WHEREAS, The County has contracted with Turner Construction Company to provide construction management, architectural and engineering services for the San Mateo County Youth Services Center; and;

WHEREAS, the Board of Supervisors has approved the plans and specifications for the project and authorized the Assistant County Manager to set the bid openings; and

WHEREAS, structural steel will be an essential part of the construction and currently, the United States steel market is experiencing record-breaking cost increases making it imperative to lock in price quotes as soon as possible to mitigate the impact of this increase;

NOW THEREFORE, IT IS HEREBY DETERMINED AND ORDERED the Assistant County Manager is authorized to accept and approve the bids related to steel and metal decks for the Youth Services Center and execute the Revision Order and Assignments necessary for award thereof up to a total amount of $10 million.
